The Power of Escape
Discover why travel remains a powerful driver of acquisition, loyalty, and engagement in TLC Worldwide's latest guide.
August 20, 2026
If you read the headlines, marketing leaders would be forgiven for assuming consumers were falling out of love with travel.
But in reality, new research shows that 79% of travellers plan to take the same number of holidays – or more – in 2026, than they did in 2025.
People still have a strong desire to travel, but how and why they choose to do it is changing.
In TLC Worldwide's latest guide, The Power of Escape, we therefore explore why travel remains resilient and what this means for brands looking to drive acquisition, loyalty, and engagement.
Commenting on the rationale behind this latest download, Ashley Artusa-Barrell, TLC’s group product innovation director, said: “For more than three decades, travel has been one of TLC’s most popular reward categories.
“Throughout that time, consumer behaviours, technologies, economic conditions and marketing trends have admittedly evolved, perhaps more so in recent years than ever before. It’s probably because of the volatility in some parts of the world right now, that a number of marketing leaders have started to dismiss the importance of travel as a reward category.
“But travel is more resilient than many people might think, not least because so many of us continue to value experiences that offer short-term escapism from our everyday busy lives.
“So, we’ve studied the market and dug deep into the data. The findings have been collated into this free, easy-to-digest guide, along with some stand out results from a number of remarkable global brands – including GoCompare, Singtel, Ferrero and Activo Bank.”
