TLC Worldwide has strengthened its global leadership team with the appointment of Chris Esposito as chief technology officer. The senior hire comes as TLC furthers investment in COSMOS, its proprietary rewards and engagement platform, and explores new data and AI-driven products that help the world’s biggest brands get even more value from their loyalty and engagement programs.

Chris brings a career spent leading large-scale technology transformation across broadcasting, media and data-driven businesses. He worked for the UK’s largest commercial broadcaster ITV for 13 years, rising from R&D software engineer and architect – building ecommerce stores and streaming platforms for joint ventures with Premier League football clubs – to director of technology for the broadcaster’s entire content supply chain. Along the way, he led major projects including channel launches and the introduction of HD, and delivered streaming for some of the UK’s biggest shows, including Big Brother, Hell’s Kitchen and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

He went on to run Mediasmiths, a software systems integrator and products company, through to its acquisition, and then joined PwC where he spent two years advising major broadcasters on technology strategy and post-merger integration. A chief technology and product officer role at Global Eagle Entertainment followed, until his most recent six year tenure at investment research firm Third Bridge. Here, he led technology, product and data, and advanced the firm’s AI proposition.

Now, as CTO at TLC Worldwide, Chris will lead TLC’s technology, product and data teams. Reflecting on what attracted him to the role, he explained: “I was looking for a business that puts people and culture first, and that would take me back to the creative industries. TLC ticked every box. It’s high-growth, with a strong leadership team, and has its own proprietary technology – I haven’t found another business that combines a scalable platform-based proposition with such a deep understanding of brands and consumer behaviour, globally.

There are real parallels with television, too. TV earns brands’ attention through video, TLC does it through experiential rewards.”

Commenting on the appointment, TLC Worldwide’s Chief Operating Officer Emma Baine continued: “Technology has always been at the heart of what TLC delivers and we have huge ambitions for where it can take us over the next few years. Chris’s appointment marks the next chapter in that story. His experience of leading transformation at scale, building AI-driven products, and delivering for some of the UK’s most-watched brands makes him the ideal person to take COSMOS and our data capabilities to the next level.

I’m delighted to welcome Chris to TLC Worldwide. With him leading our technology, we’ll give brands even more ways to acquire, engage and retain customers – with the measurable results they expect from us.”

TLC Worldwide helps the world’s biggest brands transform customer acquisition, engagement and loyalty. With 15 worldwide hubs, a presence in 50+ countries, and multiple reward networks featuring more than 100,000 lifestyle experiences, TLC delivers scalable, data-driven, experience-led programs that create measurable business results – on brand, on budget, and designed to grow. Clients include PepsiCo, Ferrero, McDonald’s, Singtel, Nestlé, Maybank and Decathlon, to name just a few.
