Overview
In a category dominated by price promotions and growing private-label pressure, Philadelphia wanted to create a stronger reason for consumers to choose the brand, beyond discounts. The brand set out to turn an everyday consumption into something more emotional, social, and memorable.
A multi-market campaign was built around inviting and encouraging people to share a meal together. Launched first in Portugal in 2025 under the concept "Vamos comer juntos?!" (“Let’s eat together?!") the initiative extended in Portugal for 2026 and expanded into Spain and Germany.
Running from February to October 2026, "Vamos comer juntos?!" invited consumers to purchase Philadelphia, upload their receipt, and enjoy €10 off dining experiences across a curated and varied restaurant network.
The Challenge
Philadelphia operates within one of FMCG’s most competitive categories, where brands battle not only against each other, but increasingly against aggressive private-label alternatives. In this environment, relying purely on price promotions risked weakening long-term brand value and creating dependency on discount-led purchasing behavior.
The brand set out to increase purchase intent, drive rotation, and encourage repeat consumption – while also reinforcing its emotional connection with consumers. Traditional promotional mechanics were unlikely to create lasting differentiation.
Why TLC
Philadelphia needed a partner capable of delivering more than a standard promotional mechanic. The campaign depended on a rewards ecosystem with enough scale, quality, and flexibility to operate consistently across multiple European markets, while remaining locally relevant to consumers.
TLC Worldwide was selected for its unique ability to combine strategic promotional thinking with access to a large experiential rewards network spanning Portugal, Spain, and Germany. This allowed Philadelphia to offer consumers gastronomic experiences at scale, while maintaining a unified campaign platform across markets.
Beyond operational scale, TLC brought expertise in behaviour-led engagement strategies designed to create value beyond discounts. By connecting the reward directly to shared dining moments, TLC helped Philadelphia reinforce emotional brand relevance while supporting commercial objectives such as purchase intent, rotation, and repeat consumption.
The TLC Approach
TLC identified the simple truth that in today’s experience-orientated society, food is rarely just functional. And often the most memorable moments around food are shared – conversations around the table, spontaneous dinners with friends, family get-togethers, and small everyday rituals that create emotional connection.
This insight formed the basis of the campaign –transforming the purchase of Philadelphia into an invitation to enjoy those moments together. The campaign launched under the concept “¡Ya no tienes excusa para salir a comer!” in Spanish, and “Já não tens desculpa. Convida-os para comer!” in Portuguese, (“You have no excuse not to go out to eat anymore!”).
The reward strategy played a critical role. Instead of offering another price discount, Philadelphia delivered added value connected directly to the brand’s messaging and storytelling. The campaign extended the brand experience beyond the supermarket shelf and into real social moments, reinforcing themes of enjoyment, sharing, and togetherness.

The Results
Following the successful 2025 launch in Portugal, Philadelphia extended the campaign across Portugal in 2026, and expanded it into Spain and Germany, maintaining a consistent consumer proposition while adapting execution locally. Even before the campaign period had fully concluded, performance significantly exceeded the previous year's results.
In Spain, reward redemptions increased by 42% compared with 2025, while the campaign delivered twice the return on investment, demonstrating stronger consumer engagement alongside improved commercial efficiency.
In Portugal, reward redemptions grew by 15%, while campaign ROI increased by 70% versus the previous year.
